Take the First Step Toward a Better Relationship

OurRelationship® is a flexible, interactive program for military couples that allows you and your partner to work through relationship challenges together through evidence-based online activities, with or without a coach. You can complete these activities on your own schedule, using your phone, computer or tablet, and have brief, weekly calls with a program coach at times that works for you — even if you’re deployed or long distance. OurRelationship® is tailored for active-duty, Guard and reserve couples, and is part of a full range of relationship support services offered through the Defense Department’s Military OneSource program.

You Decide Whether You Meet With a Coach

Work With a Coach (Recommended)

Our studies have shown couples are more likely to complete the program (and get more out of it!) when they work with a coach.

  • You and your partner will have five 20-minute calls (once a week) with your coach.
  • These calls can be scheduled during the day, evening or on weekends.
  • You can pick the coach you want to work with from our list of trained coaches.
  • Not therapy – designed to help you tailor the online program to your relationship.

Do Self-Guided Version

Other couples don’t feel comfortable talking about their relationship with someone they don’t know.

  • Our studies show the program is helpful even without a coach.
  • The program will help you and your partner have structured conversations about what you’ve learned in the program.
  • You’ll get tailored feedback based on your and your partner’s responses to surveys.
  • Best for couples when both partners are motivated to finish the program.
  • If you and your partner decide you’d like to work with a coach after getting started, you’ll have the opportunity to do so.

Couples have experienced improvements in the following:

  • Communication problems / too many arguments
  • Emotional distance or lack of love
  • Lack of trust or infidelity/cheating
  • Fights about money, parenting or other specific topics
  • Difficulty recovering from painful events in the past
  • And many others

Outcomes

You may be thinking, “This program sounds good, but how do I know it really works?” Good question! There are many online programs that promise incredible results, so what makes our program different?

  • Unlike other programs, ours has been tested in several nationwide, randomized trials with more than 5,000 couples.
  • 94% of participants were satisfied with our program.
  • 97% of participants would recommend us to a friend.
  • Our program has also helped to improve symptoms such as depression and anxiety.

How Can I Get My Partner To Do This Program With Me?

People tell us asking their partner to do this program is the hardest part of this whole process! So, we’ve put together two ways to help get your partner on board.

You can choose one of two ways to get started:

  1. We recommend you enter your partner’s email address in the form on this page. This will automatically send your partner a series of three emails sharing information about the program. If you want to see the emails first, click here.
  2. If you don’t want us sending emails to your partner (or want to talk to them first), you can copy and paste this message into an email you send to your partner yourself. You’ll want to edit the copy to add your partner’s name.

Email My Partner Program Information*

* I have affirmative permission to share my partner’s email address with OurRelationship on my partner’s behalf.

I have recommended this program to a friend of mine whose husband is in the military and they don’t have time to go to an in-person program – so this was a great alternative

It's a good place to start and helps couples to begin looking at things in a deeper, more meaningful way

"When we started the program we were fighting daily. After completing the program, I have a new outlook on our relationship and we're able to communicate without fighting."
